Ms Mavis Crofts MBE
Governor role – Attendance link governor and member of School Strategy and Curriculum committee
About me – I have been a Community governor at the school for over 10 years. I have lived in Saltney Ferry (Mold Junction) all my life, I help run our Local Tenants and Residents Association which is now in its 33rd year and I have received an MBE from the Queen in 2015. I am a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church of Wales and Worship as an Elder at City Road Presbyterian Church Chester. I am also a governor at St. David’s High School. I am now involved with children and grandchildren from my time as a Sunday School Teacher, youth club and parent and toddler groups that I organised from TB then Presbyterian Church in Saltney Ferry, which is one of the reasons why I like being involved with schools.
Statement – I enjoy being a community governor at Saltney Ferry Primary School, it helps me see the wider picture of education, to understand the financial constraints and also helps me to plan our Associations activities without encroaching on what is already provided by the school. I also enjoy the times I attend the school for assemblies and activities, it is an important part of my life.
